SEO Glossary
Technical SEO
Definition
Technical SEO focuses on the backend structure of your website — how search engine bots interact with your pages. It includes crawlability (can Google find your pages?), indexability (can Google add them to its index?), renderability (can Google see your content?), and performance (how fast do pages load?). Key areas include robots.txt configuration, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile-friendliness, structured data, and HTTPS security. Technical SEO is the foundation that all other SEO efforts build upon — without it, even great content won't rank.
